This week we talked about DOORS!
We saw the part of Monster's, Inc. where Sully has to have the right door to get Boo back home. They go into the chamber of doors and see millions of doors!
Jesus said in Luke 13: 24 that we must "...enter through the narrow door!" What's the NARROW DOOR? What do you think?
I've gone through many doors in my life time. It's because I'm really old! :) There have been a few doors that I've gone through where I hit my head! OUCH! I didn't bend down far enough!
To get to heaven we have to go through the narrow door. The narrow door is a life that's dedicated to following Jesus and doing things God's way. That takes some bending over!
But there's a lot of other doors! Those doors are wide open! They are full of things that look really fun! But those doors do not lead to heaven. They are doors that lead to a life full of sin! AHHHHHHHHH!
Living for Jesus means leaving the sin behind. Just like Moses. The Bible says that Moses chose to "suffer with God's people instead of enjoying sin for a short time." WHAT!? That doesn't make sense to a lot of people! Why would you CHOSE suffering instead of fun?
Heaven, that's why. One of the criminals hanging next to Jesus chose the narrow door. The other one did not. There were a lot of people making fun of Jesus, spitting on him, gambling for his clothes, etc... Choosing the narrow door took a lot of guts! It was against the flow for sure!
